Trouble communicating with AD2USB

Postby myumbrella » Sun Aug 23, 2015 10:02 am

I am having some issues communicating with the AD2USB, after confirming that everything (appears to be!) connected correctly. My Vera Edge was no recognizing the device, so I then installed the Windows keypad app (on Windows 10) and plugged the AD2USB directly into my laptop.

Here's the log:

Starting AlarmDecoderApp build #2.0.10.40818
8/23/2015 1:49:16 PM Loding modules. To remove modules use the modules tab under the about menu
8/23/2015 1:49:16 PM Example V1.0 initialized
8/23/2015 1:49:16 PM keypad V1.0 initialized ()
8/23/2015 1:49:16 PM MyStuff V1.0b initialized
8/23/2015 1:49:22 PM Waiting for communication to AlarmDecoder to open
8/23/2015 1:49:22 PM Opening com port: 'COM4'

It just waits for communication to open and doesn't do anything else.

Do you have the alarm connected to the AD2USB during these tests? The AD2USB needs both power from USB as well as alarm panel to function.

Yes, the AD2USB is connected to the panel correctly with the USB cable plugged into the laptop. I have the flashing green light in the AD2USB, so I assume it has power?

Are you able to connect to the serial device using putty? If so, make sure you are able to configure the device for the proper address. If you are not, please submit a ticket to ad2usb@support.nutech.com for further troubleshooting and possible RMA.

Thanks,
Kevin
