[Solved] Suggestions For Simplifying The AD2 Support Pages

Postby krkeegan » Mon Jan 06, 2014 12:52 pm

Sean asked for comments on how to improve the user experience, so here are my thoughts, take them with a grain of salt.

1. Allow better access to the old forum. I think you have some sort of forwarding setup that looks at the referrer tag in http requests. While I am able to navigate the old forum, I can't search it. Using the build in search in the old forum works, but when I click a link I am taken to this forum's main page. Similarly, when using google to search I am also taken to this forum's page. It seems like I am missing out on a lot of useful detail.

2. Get rid of the Help and maybe the Suggestions forums. The "General" forum certainly will cover "help." Why have users post questions in one forum, when the primary source of information is in another forum?

Again, just my two cents.

At this juncture, the old forums are for history/legacy items, we don't intend to keep those around. The search you speak of never worked right in the first place, and we don't intend to invest resources into it. If you find anything in there that warrants being moved to the documentation here, please let us know - but those are in effect dead and outdated, for reference only.

Other suggestions are good and implemented as of now.

Thanks,
Kevin

and... the new docs are a major upgrade over the old forum posts. Nice work.
