I have installed ad2usb into my vista 10 and ran through a couple of the doors and sensors to see what events were generated. I used the virtual software that was provided and it did not update the status of the door sensors in the program. I do not see how it can differentiate what door or sensor was opened. I compared the logs and the events are the same. Below are a sample of logs where I opened a garage door, tried setting the alarm with the door open and the clearing alarm. Then repeating the same thing upstairs on a window and moving infront of a motion sensors. The log lines look to be the same.

This message is a bit different than I have seen. Press * when you see this on your keypad I suspect it will then send the zone info. The zonetracker module would normally look for "Press * for faults" and then automatically send the "*" to the panel. If that does list the zone info let me know and I will recompile the zone tracker module and send it to you so you can test it.

So when I press* just go to panel and press it or do it from the virtual keypad? Also is there a way to pull the panel configuration via ad2usb (I.e zones, partitions, etc.)

Real keypad or virtual your choice. I want to see the logs too please as you do this.

The downloader plugin would work but as I recall its only fully tested with 15/20P panels at this time.
