Help getting correct messages from panel

Hello
I'm new here. Bought the ad2usb and connected it to my panel, a very old ademco alarm (maybe vista 128, but I'm not sure) On the panel the board says 4142. My panel works fine with Ademco 6160 keypads just fine. During installation I set the ad2usb address to 31.

I noticed that the alarm decoder app doesn't show the correct messages, so I tried looking at what's being sent in putty. Indeed the text messages that are transmitted looks bad. Few examples:

[00000001000000003A--],003,[f70000008003000c08000000000000],"DISA SA- Press * to show faults"
Should be "Disarmed-Press *..."

[00010001000000000A--],005,[f70000008005000008000000000000],"FAULT 05 05 LIVILIVIOM SOUTH"
Should be ,"FAULT 05 LIVINGROOM SOUTH"

[00000001000000000A--],011,[f70000008011000008000000000000],"FAUL` KIDS ROOMS "
Should be ,"FAULT 11 KIDS ROOMS"

From putty I can send key strokes to my pannel (i.e arm/disarm the alarm).

I'd appreciate any help setting the device correctly.

thanks,
popo

See this once in a while on very old panels... you'll have to email support and see if they'll look at modifying firmware for support.

Issue is resolved after updating FW to the latest version. Now messages received OK. However, transmitting key strokes is somewhat problematic. I'll open a new thread.
