soft keypad couldn't set ALARM AWAY, but ALARM STAY instead

Postby jeffwu » Sun Dec 17, 2017 12:39 pm

Hi

I just discovered a strange problem. in Web app's keypad, I press MasterCode and "2", the alarm is getting into "Alarm Away" initially with 15 sec beeping alerts. after all beeping stops, the keypad actually sets to "Alarm *** Stay ***" instead of "*** Away ***" as supposedly.

is this a configuration problem of my AD2PI or a bug somewhere?

ps. worth to mention, when I use a physical keypad, it has no such of a problem. it sets to Alarm Away correctly by pressing "mast code + 2".

The alarm does this automatically if it doesn't detect an exit action.

You can disable this in programming, but I forget what field it is.

Hi Kevin

what is the exit action? instead of changing the programming (which I am not familiar how to), can I add exit action while alarming through soft keypad?

thanks

Exit action I mean physically triggering an action on an exit zone, such as opening and closing the door.

I would look at the programming manual and look for the Auto-STAY feature - I think it is usually *84

If "Auto-Stay" is enabled in *84, the system will automatically revert to "Stay" if an entry/exit zone is not opened during the exit period; the system assumes you have not left the premises.

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the explanation! The exit action feature does make sense and is helpful when using physical keypad.

Is there a workaround to set the alarm to "away" remotely via soft keypad while preserving "exit action" feature for physical keypad.

any possible way to send "exit action" signal through AD2Pi?

No, you will have to disable the Auto-STAY feature in your programming to stop this.
