Which System and Hardware is Best for Existing Hardware

Postby jeepguy_1980 » Sun Jun 22, 2014 1:05 pm

I recently bought a new home. The house has an ADT Smartwatch Pro 3000EN system. All of my doors, smoke alarms, are wired to the panel. It also has a siren, some motion sensors, and who knows what else.

I have a SmartThings hub and a few Z-Wave devices. I also have one zigbee device. I recognize that SmartThings isn't really capable of supporting all that I would like to add, especially the sensors on this panel. This means that I am looking for a new system. What system and adapters would work best to with all of my existing hardware, and would be the easiest to use and expand in the future?

Here are a few shots of my system.

This is a Vista 30P panel if you look at the very top of the PCB it says SAV30??P cant exactly make out the numbers but I would say its a 30P. This is fully supported. I recommend the AD2Pi and our beta image available on our site you will get a full keypad on your tablet phone and internal computers in your house as well as notifications. If you have an existing Home Automation system or are looking at one we support many systems and It would be tough to highlight the best one they are all going to have strengths and weaknesses.

Watch the video on alarm panel configuration its easy to wire and program but you will need your installer code. If you have a monitoring company just call them and have them add a new keypad and to have them tell you what the keypad address is then program your AD2* with that address.

The 30P is a very good board it has lots of features.

Thanks for the reply. That seems like a good solution.

But I don't think I'll be able to get my installer code. I bought the house as a foreclosed property, and it had been abandoned for a few years. It was an ADT system, but the house was completely cleaned out and there is no documentation. I had to pick the lock on the box to get it open.

Is there anything I can do without my installer code?

So it looks like the 3000EN is just a modified 20P it has a few changes in programming and different defaults but its just a 20P

Sure we can :c) here is a trick that works most times.

If you give me a ring or schedule a time I will walk you through it.. In a nut shell.

1. Remove battery
2. Remove power
3.Connect power and at an existing keypad or with an AD2USB press # and * at the same time within 60 seconds of adding power.

You will be in programming mode.

Press #20 and it will report back your installer code.
Once you are in programming you can do as the video for the 20P and add an address. You will want to look at all keypad address fields to see what is turned on before you assign one to the AD2* to review a field use a # so to see the installer code you enter #20. To change the installer code you enter *20 and enter the 4 digit code.

We do offer some options on our shop to buy some time from me if needed.
