Ad2 web app issues

I finally got the web app up and running on my pi. I have a couple of issues. Once I login the keypad image appears quickly but the simulated LCD takes a while to finally load. Somewhere around 20-30 seconds.

Second, I can load the page and login via an iPhone but when I press the keypad buttons nothing happens. Nothing is transmitted to the alarm. It works fine on a regular computer via the web app.

The email alerts work nicely.

Regarding issue #1:

Do you happen to have deduplicate enabled on the AlarmDecoder? Also, try pressing the * key to force a message from the panel and see if it refreshes quicker.

I have tried it with dedup both on and off. It makes no difference. Pressing the star key does help it load when browsing on a computer.

Thanks again for the response

While we don't have an iphone, we do have an ipad with the latest IOS - I would think they work identically and we cannot reproduce keys not sending from the ipad at this time. We will continue to investigate - maybe borrow an iphone from somebody.

Ill check with an iPad too and report back.

I am amazed at the promptness of your replies. I have yet to see better customer support for any product that I have paid for.

Perhaps you should put a button on the website to have a pizza delivered to you guys.

Is there any way you could arrange for us to have access to your pi for a short while over the net to investigate? If so, email ad2usb@support.nutech.com and we would gladly arrange a time to take a look and see if we can solve your issues!

Could you go to the User Login History for your user and post the User Agent of your iphone device?

Ill double check everything and report back soon. The only way I can connect via 3G is through VPN to my home network

Here is the UserAgent for the Iphone:

Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 6_1_4 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10B350 Safari/8536.25

Here is the one for the iPad:

Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 6_1_3 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/536.26 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0 Mobile/10B329 Safari/8536.25

They both load the keypad but the simulated LCD screen never gets past the "Loading Please Wait" graphic. I waited about 2 minutes and no progress. The little spinning circle at the top showed that it was loading the whole time but safari indicated that the page was done loading.

Everything works fine on a Mac running safari:

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_6_8) AppleWebKit/534.59.10 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1.9 Safari/534.59.10

Thanks Danimal.

  • Am I correct in assuming that you're using the beta image? or did you install it from scratch?
  • In order to eliminate the VPN as a potential source for issues, did you try the phone or the ipad over wifi?
  • And finally, could you try telneting to port 10000 on your Pi to get a rough idea of the interval between messages?
