Replacing IT-100 with AD2SER

Postby encojosh » Tue Mar 08, 2016 5:39 am

I am a Crestron programmer and am looking for a replacement solution for the DSC IT-100. How does the AD2SER compare with the IT-100 in terms of capability and reliability?

Does the AD2SER support DSC 1832 and 1865 panels?
Is the AD2SER required to be assigned on the keybus?
Is it able to received broadcasted zone labels?
Can we go into programming mode with the AD2SER?

The AD2Serial supports the DSC PowerSeries panels, which includes the 1832 and more. You must assign a partition or "slot" to the AD2Serial but I do not believe you have to do anything on the alarm side for this to work. The message will contain whatever is in the ALPHA data, so if the zone label is in the ALPHA Message it will be broadcast. You can go into programming mode, but not all of the keypad screens have been accounted for and the arrow navigation keys are yet to be implemented.

Here is a list of supported DSC Panels:
Code: Select all
    PC1864
    PC1832
    PC1616
    PC1404
    PC5100
    PC5108
    PC5200
    PC5204
    PC5208
    PC5320
    PC5400
    PC5950
