SMTP 465

Postby scut77 » Thu Apr 14, 2016 4:46 pm

Hi there,

I changed email provider which uses SMTP on port 465.

My AD pi doesn't send emails anymore. The error message that appears when I click Save and Test is:

Error sending test notification: Connection unexpectedly closed

Any ideas?

Thanks

We don't support the 465 SSL, but we do support the 587 that your ISP supports - use port 587 with no TLS according to optimum online's documentation.

Kevin,

Thanks for your reply.

1st: I will try another port then.
2nd: how do you know about Optimum?

Thanks

As an admin, I see all that information so it was easy to dig up the info on your ISP to help

Kevin,

That's a good thing but why those information are in your servers?

I never submitted any of my ISP info. Please advice.

Thanks

You didn't submit any information, the system just logs your IP address - rather than asking and making the thread longer I just did a reverse lookup and went to their customer support - did not mean to offend or scare - we do not store any personal or identifying information - all it told me was that it belonged to optimum and I went from there.
