Notifications and multiple partitions Armed vs Disarmed

Postby cw76 » Tue Oct 25, 2016 4:29 pm

Hello,

At my house, I have two exterior gates which I usually lock and have sensors on. I have a Vista 21ip panel with AD2PI. When I set up the gates as a separate partition, and arm the house, but not the gates partition, the panel flips back and forth from armed and disarmed, indicating the status of the different partitions. When it does this, my arming and disarming notifications trigger constantly!

I didn't play with this too much yet, but is this a known problem, is there a good way to deal with this, or could the software be updated to handle this better (i.e., keep track of which partition is armed and disarmed, and only trigger when a given partition actually changes state)?

Thanks!

It is in our list for the software to handle multiple partitions better - but in the meantime, you can filter out messages destined for other keypads/partitions by removing the address(es) you don't want to see from the address mask setting on the device.

I think I am having the same issue. We have a (ethernet connected) AD2Pi (V2.2a.8a8) wired to our DSC PC5010 panel. We have two partitions ("Office" in partition 1 and "Plant" in partition 2) and two physical keypads (one in each area).

Once we connected the AD2Pi and had all connectivity established (4 green checkmarks in the Device Testing setup screen) with no address masking (i.e. ffffffff meaning all areas are being monitored), we get a repeating log of messages like this (where the Office is green light / System Is Ready to Arm, and the Plant is Secure System Before Arming with doors open, etc.).

Per the previous post, I redid the setup in webapp and configured the AlarmDecoder as follows:

Panel type: DSC
Partition: 1
AlarmDecoder Address Mask: 80000000 (only partition 1 is checked)
Webapp Address Mask: 80000000 (only partition 1 is checked)

When I do this, I cannot get the 4th green checkbox to appear, i.e. Keypad communication (Receive) responds with a Test Timed Out message.

For some reason, setting the address mask causes the Keypad comm (Receive) to fail / time out, and thus we cannot continue.

Please help! I think we are close. We already paid the alarm company to enter their installer code (after we installed the AD2Pi, we were getting "Trouble" lights on the 2 existing keypads that required a 902 / 903 command before they could be used again). Really highway robbery!

Please email ad2usb@support.nutech.com - there has been a lot of development on the DSC firmware side of things lately, I hope the engineer can help you, I am not familiar with this scenario on DSC.

Thanks!

Update your firmware and set your address mask accordingly

It took a little while... but I got an address mask that worked. for some reason, I needed to enable the partition that I want (partition 1) and I had to enable partition 7... I'm unsure why I needed to enable partition 7 but it seems to be working now.

Thanks!

I was wondering if there was anymore development on the partitioning enhancements for the webapp -- in particular the REST API. I don't see in the documentation where it references a partition. While I know a partition can be filtered out, I need to be able to monitor/manage both partitions at the same time (Ademco alarm system).

It's very possible that I'm missing something. If you can direct me how to do this, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

You can figure out the partition from the address mask in the last message received field when getting alarm status from the API - how to calculate is in the protocol docs in the Documentation

Thanks.

Does it matter that all of my keypads are AUI?
