Postby xuniman » Tue Apr 01, 2014 5:32 pm

I have set up the ad2usb and have i communicating to the laptop but it doesn't seem to communicate to the panel. I have enabled the *191 (address 18) keypad in the system but get no coms. The green light is blinking on he ad2usb.

Lots but its not enough information.

Do you have any log output from the Alarmdecoder Keypad App? It should show your settings when it first starts up in the log and any messages from the panel it does see.

Yaa.. um. thats not a log :) I need more than that. Select the LOG tab copy/paste all the text and paste it here inside of a <code> tag.

Has anything else shown up after the last RFX message after several minutes?

Sorry, I didn't leave it plugged in. I have a short wire between the panel and the device. The one I originally had on was really long 9mybe 80 feet) so I took it out to remove a variable. I will go hook it back up and leave it running for 10 minutes or so.

Ok this is a head scratcher but I think its just a configuration issue. You mentioned you modified the programming to enable this keypad address are you sure its a P panel and not an SE panel that needs to be at address 31?

Please provide the following
1. AlarmDecoder model USB/SERIAL Etc.
2. Photo of your panel so I can see the wiring and model # stickers
3. Confirm the wiring is correct by watching the install video just in case the installer used the wrong colors etc compare with your panels model # wiring diagram usually located on the inside of the alarm panel enclosure

Seeing the RFX messages and no ALPHA messages seems very odd unless its an SE panel and needs to be changed to 31.

You may want to just use the GUI and change to 31 just to confirm if it works. Look at the new OSX video it shows how to change the address in the video to 31 for an SE panel.
