virtual serial port competition?

Newbie here ...

I successfully connected my ad2usb to my Vista 20p and my Mac Mini running OSX 10.8.5 I had the GUI registering and reporting alarm states properly. (FWIW I did not get 2way enabled because I was unable to program the ad2usb to address 17 .. mostly because I indvertently locked out my installer code by not RTFM correctly).

Anyhow .. I then tried to hook up my Indigo system .. which again worked properly. However when I went back to the GUI it never got past the waiting for communications. I also tried to install a Z-wave HA interface which also failed. I assume the issue is the single FTDI virtual serial stuff. How do I make this work?

Also could not install the panel programming module for the GUI .. I couldn't find a modules folder just the app itself.

Sounds like it would be easier if I talk on the phone too many variables in what you are saying is going on to have a good answer.
