Ad2serial with Home assistant

Hi, I have been using the Ad2serial for many years on Vera with no issues. Recently i switched over to Home Assistant and before doing so I made sure alarm-decoder products were supported. Unfortunately, I can't get home assistant to work. I followed the online instructions but with no luck.

Can someone please guide me in the right direction? I don't want fancy automation just a way to run on and off the panel using my phone or tablet. Thanks

Probably just baud rate? AD2Serial is 19200.

Only other thought is old firmware. Please confirm your panel type and AD2 firmware version.

Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, it might be the firmware since i have one of the first units your produced. I had issues with lightning strikes and you were kind enough to replace it with the serial version which has been rock solid for more than 12 years now.

Is there a tutorial for updating the firmware? Thanks
