Enable Virutal Relays on Vista 20SE

Postby ykamenet » Wed Feb 18, 2015 8:24 pm

Hi,

I wanted to enable and setup virtual relays to be able to report status for wired zoned when alarm is in armed state. I have a Vista 20SE panel (ADT Safewatch pro 2000). I installed latest 2.2a.8 beta firmware on my AD2USB, connected via Putty, went into configuration, and set all relay module #01-04 to "Y". However, when I go to program them by using *79 I get a message "Not Used EE" and I can't proceed any further. Is there anything else besides updating the setting to "Y" for relay modules in AD2USB config I need to do for the panel to allow me to program them?

Thanks.

I think 79 is for 20P check your programming manual for 20SE its a different field I think 80?

Wow, thank you for a quick reply!! I could not locate programming manual for 20SE but I found it now. Will give it a shot.

Sean, I could use some hints on programming the relays since it looks to be different from 20P instructions that are posted here:

http://archive.nutech.com/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=74&func=view&catid=4&id=656

My menu *80 looks different and I am a bit at a loss on what I need to enter to get it working. I have 1 partition with following zones:

Zone # Label
--------- ----------------------------
1 Garage Door
2 Kitchen Back Door
3 Patio Door
4 Basement Door
5 Bedroom Motion
6 Barrier
10 Front Door

My main goal is to get the hardwired motion sensor (zone #5) to report in the alarm armed state.

I could not follow the instructions for 20P since it is different for 20SE. My *80 menu looks like this:

and *81 menu looks like this:

Full installation manual is here: http://www.diyalarmforum.com/Downloads/Ademco/install-manuals/vista20se-install.pdf

Any help on how to set up a relay for that one zone #5 motion detector? If I can get help with one zone, I can follow and complete the others. Would greatly appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Looks like I configured it since I am not getting messages in the log when the alarm is armed and motion senor is tripped. I get the following messages.

When it is tripped, I get this message in SSH log:

!REL: 01,01,01

and when it is un-tripped I get this in the log:

!REL: 01,01,00

Could someone let me know what sensor number I use to add this new relay sensor to Vera plugin? I have tried 12 and 401 with no success. Looks like relay is working, just need to make Vera plugin aware of it now and not sure how. Please help. Thanks.

Just wanted to see again if anyone can help. I am getting relay entries in the log so the panel is seeing the virtual device I created (I think) but I can't add it to Vera plugin since I am not sure what sensor number to use. I feel like I am close... but still not there. Please help.

This being out of scope for AlarmDecoder itself (we have nothing to do with Vera, our device just happens to have a plug-in written by somebody for it), I will have to refer you to purchasing an engineer's time off of our shop - for $50/hr you can buy time from an engineer here to get in and help you with integrating our product with other products.
Not an employee of the company. Just here to help and keep things clean.
